Burn Rate

What Is Burn Rate?

Burn rate measures how quickly you're consuming tokens, expressed as tokens per minute and USD per hour. It's calculated from your active sessions across all machines.

Usage Pace Metrics

The burn rate dashboard displays:

Current Rate

  • Tokens/minute — rolling average over the last 15 minutes
  • USD/hour — projected hourly cost at current pace
  • Active machines — which PCs are currently consuming tokens

Projections

  • Block projection — at current rate, you'll exhaust this 5-hour block by HH:MM
  • Daily projection — estimated end-of-day cost
  • Weekly projection — estimated end-of-week cost

Trend Detection

  • Increasing — usage pace is accelerating
  • Stable — consistent usage rate
  • Decreasing — usage is slowing down

Daily averages are calculated with trend indicators to help you spot changes in usage patterns.

Visual Indicators

  • Color-coded progress bars:
    • Green — under 50% of rate limit
    • Amber — 50–80% of rate limit
    • Red — over 80% of rate limit

Cross-Machine Aggregation

Burn rate is aggregated across all machines. If Machine A is consuming 1,000 tokens/min and Machine B is consuming 500 tokens/min, your combined burn rate is 1,500 tokens/min.

Machine A: ████████████████░░░░ 1,000 tok/min
Machine B: ████████░░░░░░░░░░░░ 500 tok/min
──────────────────────────────────
Combined: ████████████████████ 1,500 tok/min

Alerts

Configurable burn rate alerts:

  • Notify when burn rate exceeds a threshold
  • Notify when projected block exhaustion is within N minutes
  • Cool-down period to avoid alert spam
